There is no doubt that we have been stressed out and exhausted by this pandemic; not only in the physical aspect, but also mental and spiritual aspect of the person. Some of you guys are probably still feeling this way for a way longer time; to the point of breaking someone resulting to feelings of burnout, loneliness and possibly even depression.
No individual is safe from the feelings resulted from isolation, no matter if you are young, old, a cheerful lad, or a person who likes to be alone; it will happen at some point, and the progression stages of these feelings of burnout and loneliness have been sped up and magnified by major stressors. Unsurprisingly, feelings of loneliness have been steadily increasing in recent times especially now that there is a pandemic we have to currently face and solve.
There is a great video from Kurzgesagt in a Nutshell discussing Loneliness in possibly the simplest terms possible here
In the current state of events, the pandemic is considered to be a major stressor by multiple studies related on psychological aspect of an individual. Procedures such as isolation, quarantine or generally, policies that forces someone to be isolated away from their companions and loved ones definitely deprives someone of their social needs.
And to be perfectly honest, there is no one definite solution to fix these problems. I have to admit, probably the best course of action here when things blow over is to seek professional help. But we can alleviate some of the results caused by longer periods of isolation on a moments notice, actions such as having a healthy support system with other people, keeping regular interactions with people you know; even if it is only in a virtual form; but never substitute this for seeking professional help, unchecked problems such as these can be chronic and may become worse with time if not dealt with properly.
